Back | Feasibility Study For The Proposed Serendah-Pelabuhan Klang-Seremban Bypass

Client
Ministry Of Finance / Keretapi tanah Melayu (KTMB)

Detail Narrative Description of Project
The Government of Malaysia is committed to modernize and upgrade the railway infrastructure. Many projects have been implemented to upgrade rail infrastructure to reduce transit time for passenger and goods. The completed Electrified Double Track Project from Rawang to Ipoh in the North and the proposed Electrified Double Track Project from Seremban to Gemas in the South will increase the capacity and speed of rail travel especially along West Coast. In order to take advantage of these developments and to enhance growth of international container traffic, strategic improvements to the existing railway infrastructure have been planned including new rail links, new by-passes and rail connections to the East Coast States.

With this in view, the government had mandated KTMB (a company incorporated as the subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance) to carry out a Preliminary Engineering and Route Alignment Study and prepare a Master Plan for a new by-pass line from Serendah–Port Klang-Seremban.
