Detail Narrative Description of Project
North-South Expressway is the largest privatised road project in Malaysia. The upgrading involves the stretch from Rawang to Tanjung Malim, which is to be widened from a dual 2-lane carriageway to a dual 3-lane carriageway including associated realignment of interchange ramps. The scope of work includes the widening of 45 km of the expressway and realignment of entry and exit ramps at 4 interchanges, one lay-by and one rest and service area. The works involve pavement, earthworks, retaining walls, widening of 6 bridges, extension of 19 VBC's, lengthening of 145 drainage culverts and relocation of existing public utilities. Routine maintenance of existing road and upgraded road including heavy repairs where required. The Total project Cost is estimated at RM 255 million.  

Detail Description of Actual Services
Co-ordination and Supervision of topographical survey and soil investigation; Design of horizontal and vertical alignment; Design of earthworks, ground treatment and retaining structures; Design of widening of bridges, extension of VBC's and culverts extensions; Design of relocation of PLUS communication system, emergency telephone system, street lighting and existing watermains affected; Design of traffic management and new traffic signs and road furniture; Prepared design and strategies for pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction including structural evaluation of existing pavement, provision of necessary repair and strengthening treatments, Preparation of bill of quantities and cost estimates; Preparation of tender drawings.
