Detail Narrative Description of Project
The Project involves the construction of a National Sports Complex (NSC) to upgrade sporting facilities at national level and to provide suitable venues for the holding of international sporting events. The scope of development includes:

  • a Main Stadium with a seating capacity for 100,000 persons
  • a smaller Indoor Stadium to accomodate 13,000 spectators
  • a Swimming Complex for 3,000 people

Detail Description of Actual Services
Among the pertinent issues assessed are the impact of soil erosion due to earthworks and subsequent silting of Sungai Kuyuh, and main drains and retention ponds within Berjaya Golf Resort (BGR), water quality impact on main drains and retention ponds resulting from indiscriminate disposal of partially treated sewage and debris during the construction stage, the adverse traffic impedances on public roads imposed by construction vehicles plying excess earth, reinforcement bars and steel structures to and from the NSC, adverse impact of noise and air quality due to traffic congestion during main sporting events in the vicinity of the NSC.
