Detail Narrative Description of Project
The coastline of the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) is exposed to the South China Sea and certain stretches of the coastline have experienced severe erosion, where the highest coastal erosion takes place for which protection work is required to mitigate loss of land and properties. The sandy beaches in Teluk Lipat are among the main tourist attractions in Terengganu; they are popular recreational outlets. As such, enhancing and preserving the aesthetics of existing recreational beaches shall be the utmost important consideration in the planning and design of the project

Detail Description of Actual Services
As part of the strategy for rehabilitation of the eroded shoreline in Dungun, Terengganu, and in line with the proposed Dungun Town Coastal Tourism Development, Engineering Study, Detailed Design and Supervision for Coastal Protection System at Pantai Teluk Lipat, Dungun are to be conducted. The total study area for the Engineering Study comprises about 9.7 km of sandy beaches extending from the Sungai Dungun river mouth in the north to Sungai Sura river mouth in the south. Though, for Detailed Design it only about 1.5 km stretch of the coastline which is it a critical condition where erosion is presently threatening the coastal road, various public and private buildings and individual houses.
